We originally were interested in Nubian goats for their milk. Nubian milk has one of the highest butterfat contents at 5 percent, which gives it a creamier taste. We drink the fresh milk, have made various types of goat cheese, and also make Goat Milk soap for home use and for sale. The milk is also very good for orphaned and sick animals. Our herd is not registered but originates from a registered Nubian herd. We have doe-lings and wethers for sale and our kidding time is in May.

Origins of Nubians

Just a little history of the origins of the Nubian goat breed. The Anglo-Nubian originated from England in the 1920s and ’30’s as a cross between Old English Milch goat and Nubian bucks imported from the Middle East. They have since been exported to various countries including the United States.

Nubian Characteristics

The Nubian is large in size and fleshier than most other dairy breeds. The markings can be solid or speckled and have the famous long pendulous “bunny ears” and Roman Nose. Nubians are very outgoing and social creatures and their milk has one of the highest butterfat contents at around 5 percent, giving it a creamier taste.

Why Use Goat Milk Soap?

Goats Milk Soap is almost the exact same pH level as our skin. Goat’s Milk contains lactic acid for alpha hydroxy skin rejuvenation. Old skin cells are easily lost after exposure to alpha hydroxy, therefore leaving the smooth new skin cells. In the commercial soap manufacturing process, glycerin is typically removed because the substance is valuable to sell for its moisturizing properties. Our homemade Goat’s milk soap contains the glycerin, which lends itself to luxurious skin softening properties.
